Good evening Peeps,
This might be a silly question but, does anybody know if there is such a thing as a Pmag compatible floor plate that will fit a Howa ( 308)?
Reason is that every so often the Howa mag will drop slightly and not allow the next round to be picked up by the bolt.
Thanks in advance,
Best

Re: P mag conversion for Howa
All depending on the stock, you might be able to fit an AICS bottom metal and get the height right for reliable feeding. But P mags, would require something akin to the mag system of the Mossberg MVP or Ruger American. Don’t think there’s an aftermarket part to be able to do this.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Re: P mag conversion for Howa
Why is the mag dropping in the first place???
I have a Howa .308 and it feeds flawlessly, but then again it doesn't actually have a removable magazine, just a built in mag with a floorplate underneath which opens up to unload everything. I did buy a plastic conversion a few years ago https://riflemags.co.uk/ati-magazine-fl ... rt-action/ but thought it a bit naff so took it off after a couple of uses.
There is this one https://riflemags.co.uk/wr-aics-drop-in ... rt-action/
And the mag https://riflemags.co.uk/mdt-308-7-62mm- ... -magazine/

Re: P mag conversion for Howa
Morning Peeps,
Thanks for the replies, the rifle has a GRS Laminate stock, I had 2 mags with the conversion from floor plate and have always had issues with 1 mag but the second one now has started dropping slightly every so often.
I only use the Howa for target shooting so have persevered with it, and only thought about P mags as I have 2 for my RPR 6.5.

Re: P mag conversion for Howa
When I bought my Howa it had been fitted with AICS bottom metal. I think it was by roedale although it has no markings.

I switched from the original Howa stock to a GRS with no modification necessary. Also changed the trigger without problem.
I don't know if the action needed modification by the previous owner.
