When you shoot it, the cartridges and the mag inner tube try to stay still whilst the rifle recoils away from them, quite a lot of pressure on a small pin cut out I would say. Hence the original crack.

Have you suggested that a replacement rifle would be the answer.

Not only would it fulfill their warranty but you also might get an up to date model which is worth having as Henry obviously will not meaningfully support older models with a relevant parts inventory!

It is a steel tube? Eould it be about 1mm thick ? A good tig welder will easy weld it up. Ask the welder to show you an example of his welding first in the same size wall thickness.

Actually thats not a bad idea a decent tig welder can do a really neat job.

Can't understand why the tube split. my Marlin is 44 years old and no trace of anything like a split in the tube.
