IMO: Apart from the Picatinny infested guns, where you cant see the actual barrel, and firing slugs at 100M then using a red dot site is slower to sight at short range. During a PSG course of fire it is surprising the time 'wasted' whilst you try to mount the sight, align the red dot, and think about the target.

The gun in question is an AR pattern gun and as such its impossible to look directly over the barrel like a traditional layout shotgun. If someone has to search for their dot/think about the target they haven't got the gun/sight set up properly and/or need to practice mounting the gun!
