Pardoe 20g

#1 Post by MotorRacingBruce1980 »

Please can someone shed some light on this make!

My Mum is starting clay shooting and has just got herself a Pardoe 20g. I have never heard of the make before but it looks and feels well made. Its an Over and Under with some nice engraving work and an average piece of walnut. Single trigger with auto switch between barrels.

Any Info is much appreciated.

Apart from proof markings and Numbers this is the only writing that indicates the make.

Proof markings might indicate a country too, post pics of those perhaps.

Excuse my awful drawing but didn't come out well on a photo but this is what the proof mark looks like.

The proof mark looks like an Italian (Gardone) mark.

Cam 70 means 70mm chamber (2 3/4 inch)

KG 1.370 is the weight of the barrels on Italian guns I believe...

There should be a letter code with the proof mark that gives a date? E.g. ‘AT’ for 1988, BC for 1993 and so on...

Ok after some work with a magnifying glass I can confirm it's been proofed in Gardone, Italy.

There is a date Mark of AS so that's 1987. There are also the PSF and FINITO markings.

Looks like it's a 1987 Italian 20 gauge not Spanish as I was lead to believe. I still can't find anything about the make though.
