Cool :)

Sorry for all the questions, did you use the "special" version of Form 201 from Durham (the one with the added page about who lives with you etc.) or a proper one?, I noticed there wasn't the usual request for full medical forms, I assume the "trial" has ended.

I used the Durham version unknowningly. 8-) As the forms had been massively redesigned since my last renewal I just assumed the ones I'd been sent were the 'official' form 201, particularly given that every sheet had F201 printed in the top corner. As it turns out the sheet about the other people in your house and the one to fill in with any land you shoot over/club officials details are 'extras' :bad: I wouldn't have filled them in if I'd known but didn't find out until they were sent off 8-)

New FAC arrived on Friday so that's about 10 weeks in total and more or less bang on a fortnight before the old one expired, not too bad, especially considering previous form. :good:

The downsides were; the clay pigeon condition for my FAC shotguns has disappeared, although that isn't a big deal and i'll just wait to get it sorted once I put in for a variation or something.

And they didn't tell me when the new one was coming out/ask for my old certificate back beforehand and I understand you're not allowed to have two certificates at the same time/possibly an offence!? Anyway that went in the post to them at the weekend. I would've just snipped the corner off and kept it (like an old passport), but it had a lot of ammo buying on it and the original transfers for 2 guns (they are on the new certificate in the 'possessed' section but, belt and braces).

Hopefully the improvement in service will continue fingerscrossed

I think the two certificates at the same time would not count here....as one expires in two weeks & the other is valid from the expiration date of the old one.
Not left yourself without a current FAC have you?

Get the clay pigeon condition chased up. WHO do Durham think they are, Police Scotland?

Not valid YET....so my guess would be NO (& have seen it happen at RFDs to have people refused such sales)

Well they cashed my cheque after about 3 weeks so looks to be going OK so far, mine run out April 26th so still plenty of time :)

I'd be straight onto them about the clay condition being missed off, it may be a while until you need a variation. As for 2 certs at once, yes it's perfectly OK as long as they don't overlap, just return the old one's after they expire, or keep them if they haven't asked for them (some forces don't).

I wanted to return it because I'd gone through a load of ammo and want the 'evidence' in case I need to up my allowances or to help justify more guns of the same caliber etc. Looked at my cert last night and it actually expires over a week earlier than I thought, so less time to wait to buy ammo, but a poorer job by Durham. Still, before the expiry date and that's all that matters really.

I don't expect to see my FAC or SGC any time soon, nor my two explosives licences - the RFD renewal is coming up soon as well. Oh f***ing joy!
