RWS .308 Brass Twice-fired, from 10p/case

#1 Post by rox »

Twice-fired RWS Brass.

£60.00 per 500 cases (12p per case), £100.00 per 1,000 cases.

Cash on collection at Bisley, Sold as seen.

Brass History:

1st firing: RWS 'RUAG' factory ammo (silver coloured primers).

Thoroughly cleaned using crushed walnut shells; Small-base FL sized and trimmed to nominal 2.005".

2nd firing: loaded with a modest CIP-tested load using TR140 and Murom primers (gold coloured primers, easily distinguished from factory) - every round individually inspected and weighed.

The brass is bright, shiny and clean in fired condition (see photos); it is supplied 'as fired' after second firing.

No problems at all. From memory they measure-up 0.001" to 0.0015" shallower than Feds, and I was a little concerned when I first saw them seated in GGG brass (I suspect the pocket may be a fraction deeper too), but they shot fine in both types of brass, and as long as the shoulder is positioned sensibly I'm sure they will be fine. They do stack more densely in my primer tubes, perhaps 5% more, but I think that's mainly because they are a little more rounded so they nest closer together. I don't reach for the 210Ms even for competition loads now. I did hear of some issues with the Green boxed Murom a few years ago, but I've only used the red ones.
