Benelli Montefeltro Woodcock

#1 Post by Sim G »

Here's a super s2, inertia driven semi auto shotgun from Benelli. The Montefeltro was designed to light and lightning quick for the small, fast game birds such as woodcock, hence its name. But, I've found this to be a. Outstanding gun for skeet and compact sporting or sporting clays.

It has a 24", barrel that's topped with a carbon rib. I've added an EasyHit fibre optic bead. The magazine was designed from the start to carry two rounds, so it has a wonderfully balanced short for end. The stock has shims and spacers to adjust cast and drop. Multi choke and comes with three. It is a three inch chambered gun but I found by accident that it will cycle 2 1/2" cartridges as well!

The inertia mech is ultra reliable and the Montefeltro is one semi that will also run reliably on 24 gram loads.

It has one or two handling marks but is in overall lovely condition. It comes with the Benelli plastic hard case as well. I'll get some pics of the actual gun up tomorrow, but in the mean time, here's a link to the GMK site....

Recommended retail of £1425 for a new gun, this one is £850.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Oh you Philistine! That is a high quality, Italian artists impression of a Woodcock! Relief engraved in to the receiver and gold leave filled....

(More likely machine cut, Umbro enamel paint!)

But it is a lovely shotgun and at almost bang on 6lbs the only gun quicker would be a fine English side by side....

Sim, please stop posting explicit gun porn, I am trying to keep my money for the Ruger Precision Rifle that may turn up soon, the last thing I need is to be tempted by some fast Italian tart with lovely curves that handles nicely :good:

Just to add my two pence, I shot this the other day with SimG. I found the gun fast and light and a pleasure to use, I don't however have that sort of money at the moment (and no shotgun cert) or I would have had this.

Good gun the montefeltro, named after some Italian duke apparently....nice and light, and the inertia system makes for easier cleaning! I have one myself.
