Ardesa Buckhunter or Vortek Pistol??

Anyone know where I can get my hands on one of these Ardesa pistols (pref. a BuckHunter)?. I know Kranks used to stock the BuckHunter but they aren't made anymore :bad:

I really fancy one of these as all the other BP/Muzzle loading pistols I've looked at have hand grips that are way too small for me, I tried a Ruger Old Army and my little finger is completely underneath the grips.

Did the Old Army have Pachmayr rubber grips?
These may prove more suitable than the factory provided ones.

No, just the usual wood grips, I've seen a couple with Pachmayrs but again were quite small, the set I had on my S&W 29 (.44) were a pretty good fit but that was an N frame revolver so pretty big to start with.

Pachmayr makes two types of grip that fit the ROA. Hogue do a mono grip as well....... if your hands are too big for a Mono-grip, you're an effing Silver back!!!

BTW, one of my mates has been looking for a .50 Ardessa Buckhunter for ages and just can't find one.....

Indeed I am, almost 6' 6" and not particularly slim either :)

The BuckHunter has been replaced with the Vortek, not as nice I don't think :(

You say that your little finger in completely under the grip on the Old Army: that is exactly where it should be! The curled up little finger provides a positive location on which the base of the grip can locate---there is no other way of ensuring that you always hold the pistol in the same way. When I did my pistol instructors course in the 1960s, i was told that if I was really srious about pistol shooting, I should have my thumb and little finger amputated as thses are the major causes of inconsistency in the hold. I still have them, but the message went home and i do not grip with either.
